Who Do You Know That’s Into Local Theatre?
I’m sure I’ll be mentioning several times in the coming months the work I am doing pursuing a new target market: local theatres and performing arts groups. I’ve started working with a marketing firm to develop some promotional material. The materials have a few blank spots where we will eventually be inserting screen captures and testimonials from the first few theatres that I work with.
Here’s the catch: right now I haven’t worked with any theatres. My clients have all been small businesses since I started freelancing a few years ago. I need to find a few theatres that are willing to work with me based on my existing portfolio of “commercial” websites.
That’s where I need your help. Yes, you! Who do you know that’s involved with local theatre? It doesn’t matter where they are located. Would they (or someone they know) be interested in a business-caliber website even though they probably can’t afford a business-caliber price tag?
Now many of you are freelance web designers yourselves. I certainly encourage you to take on any gig with a theatre if it is a good match for you. (There’s plenty of theatres in the world, and I’m not really worried about all of them getting snatched up.) If you know someone who needs a site, but isn’t a good match for you, then think of me. Also if you aren’t a web designer, then I’m talking to you.
