the Designs: Excellence in Networking

Excellence in Networking is a local chapter of Business Networking International. Various business professionals meet weekly to exchange referrals and assist each other with their business. This site needed to serve a function as an information source for existing members as well as a recruiting tool for prospective members.
The leadership roles in this organization turn over regularly, so it was crucial that the design allows people with varying degrees of technical proficiency to make updates to the site without any special skills or training. In addition to a directory of current members, the site also includes announcements and a list of upcoming speakers.
Clay Mabbitt fell haplessly into web site design as a freshman at Indiana University. After innumerable adventures designing sites in the academic, corporate, and government arenas, he struck out on his own as a freelance developer. He lives and works in Indianapolis.
